Over 2,000 primary students around the island sat the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) examinations on Thursday and Friday this week. The exam formally known as the Common Entrance, serves as a valuation of students’ skillsets of students and is used as a placement exam for students. In an address to the nation, Minster for Education Shawn Edward, urged parents to not let exam results serve as a measure of value for the students. The minister further went on to add that the school system is not a class system, therefore students should not be defined by the school that they are assigned based on their grades.
