The Royal St Lucia Police Force has confirmed the rescue of half a dozen St Lucians and one French national. Claims are that the individuals were en route back to St Lucia aboard a vessel from Martinique when they encountered difficulty at sea. They have since been repatriated from Martinique.
According to Police reports six out of a total of seven individuals were rescued and are back safe on St Lucian soil.
Meanwhile, police have reported the discovery of a body about 6 nautical miles off Pigeon Island. Officials have disclosed that due to extensive decomposition of the body a positive identification has not yet been made. DNA tests are expected to be conducted on the corps to conclusively confirm the identity. More details to come
