At least one individual is dead, following a fire at Morne Serpent, Gros Islet. The young male succumbed in the blaze, which took place on May 19. According to Press Relations Officer Stacy Joseph, officers from the Gros Islet Fire Station responded to the fire report about 1:05 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, the dwelling structure was completely engulfed. Firefighters were unable to save the house and its contents. However, officers were able to contain the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties.
