The Saint Lucian public are mourning the passing of former government minister, Ira D’Auvergne, who passed away yesterday, June 1st. During his tenure in office, Mr. D’Auvergne served as Parliamentary Representative for Anse La Raye/Canaries.
Amongst those remembering the impact of D’Auvergne’s contribution to St. Lucian society, was Leader of the Opposition, Allen Chastanet. Chastanet noted that the former MP made a massive mark on the lives of farmers whilst he was in office. “The immeasurable contributions made by Mr. D’Auvergne to the agricultural sector will forever remain an indelible mark of his legacy” the Opposition Leader said on his social page. “His unwavering dedication to improving the livelihoods of farmers and promoting sustainable practices will continue to inspire future generations” he added.
Mr. D’Auvergne was 91.
