St Lucia’s continued reliance on the Regional Security System RSS for law enforcement support has resulted in the deployment of 12 law enforcement officers from St Kitts and Nevis to aid in the peacekeeping efforts in Vieux Fort. This move comes as a result of the wave of gun related violence there that escalated in March this year. While on island, the officers will be sworn in as Special Constables and will be under the command of St. Lucia’s Acting Commissioner of Police Crusita Descartes-Peluis.
