St. Lucia is one step closer to appointing a Special Prosecutor as an application for the position is currently under review by the Judicial and Legal Commission. This revelation was made Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre at pre-cabinet press briefing. In his address, the PM informed that applications were received both domestically and regionally. This follows Parliament’s passing of legislation to empower a selected lawyer to serve as the Special Prosecutor who will investigate reliable reports of corruption by both current and former public officials.
